Manufacturing Competitiveness Enhancement Programme (MCEP)
MCEP is available to South African entities engaged in manufacturing (SIC3), engineering services that support manufacturing and conformity assessment bodies servicing the manufacturing industry. The scheme was announced during June 2012 for a period of 6 years until 2018.
The objective of the incentive is to promote enterprise competiveness and job retention through Production Incentive components:
- Capital Investment
- Green Technology and Resource Efficiency Improvement
- Enterprise Level Competitiveness Improvement
- Feasibility Studies
The incentive grant of up to 50% of plant and machinery is designed to support manufacturers upgrading and expanding their businesses which will lead to the creation and retention of jobs.
The grant percentage depends on the Manufacturing Value Add (MVA) and the size of the entity.
It is important that you apply at least 60 days prior to your starting date of your project.
